Got an Excel doc....cannot edit, PLEASE HELP!!!

Can someone please help me? Today I stayed at home sick and my boos send me via AOL e-mail an Excel document that needs editing as an attachment. The document is on read only cannot edit....Please help!!! Is there something I can do? PLeaseeeee :-(
