Gradient fill on a worksheet...

Greeting to all on this most sad day in honor of our Great
President, Ronald Reagan.

Anyway, I've tried all of the tricks in trying to obtain a
gradient fill on a non-chart, non-drawing object, range of
cells, but so far to no avail. So, my most basic question
is this: how do I create a gradient fill for a range of
cells, say e5:l23?

I know that I can apply a gradient fill to a non-chart
excel drawing object, but how do I accomplish the same for
a range of cells?

Thnak you in advance.

Mark :)

I don't think you can do put a gradient into a group of
cells. One thing you could do is to but a rectangle over
the set of cells, put a gradient into the box and then
make the fill have a high tranparency. You will have to
drag the box out of the way to enter data into the cells.
