Graphic in envelope return address

M

Mr Mike

is there a way to place a graphic in the return address? I tried to paste
one into the return address on the Tools, Options, User Information and the
Envelope and Labels wizard and it will not allow a graphic to be added in
either of those locations.

If I paste it into the envelope after using the envelope wizard, the graphic
appears in the envelope and label wizard as long as I do not close word.

Is there a way to do this? Is there a standard template for an envelope
that I could modify to make this work? I regularly have to create a single
envelope and usually use the envelope and labels wizard, then select an
person from my contact list.

You can add a graphic to your envelope similar to the way
you add a graphic to a Word document. Before you can add
the graphic, the envelope must first be inserted into the Word
document. Once the envelope is in the document, you can use
the Insert Picture or Insert Clip Art command to add the graphic.
You can apply typical modifications to the graphic (e.g., resize).
For more information on inserting Clip Art, refer to Using Clip Art.

Thanks for responding. But I don't think that answeres my question. I don't
want to have to add the graphic each time I create an envelope. I want to
jump to the envelope and labels wizard, pick a person from my contacts list
and BAM, the envelope is created for the person I selected, with the graphic
and return address already filled in. Am i missing something? Can I add the
graphic to my return address information so it is already filled in? Is
there a standard envelope template that can be modified so I can QUICKLY
create an envelope.

Nope. Nothing in life is ever that easy. Sorry. :-(

I just came across your question, as I was searching for a solution
myself. Earlier versions of Word did allow you to insert a graphic into
the return address and save it as the default, but no more.

As sometimes happens, something in the way you talked about our common
problem gave me an idea. I tried it and it works, after years of
frustration!

Open an new blank document and use Tools/Envelopes and Labels to create
an envelope with you return address, and add it to the document (with or
without an address).

Then go to the envelope and add the graphic you want. You could include
a letterhead on the page of the document as well, if you like.

Save the document as a template (I called mine Business Envelope).

When you need an envelope, open a new document using the template you
created, insert the appropriate address and print just the envelope
(current page), if that is all you need.
