Help with form controls on publisher web

I am desperate to get my site posted to my GoDaddy host and I have completed
the site in MS Publisher 2007 and vista, published to the web in publisher to
a folder on my hard drive then FTP to GoDaddy host root directory of my site,
the index.htm and the index folder containing my files. The home page shows
up with white boxes, no images and the links dont work. The image boxes seem
to be pointing to my C: drive on my computer. How can I fix this, I have been
working with it all day and have been working on the site for 2 months. Many
coworkers looking forward to using the site and I can't get to work. Website
works fine in publisher in the web preview mode. Please Help!

Did you FTP the folder "index_files" and its contents to the server?

Please post the URL to your site.

Are you using the Master Page feature? If so, then move all the design
elements off the Master page to the main pages of the publication.

yes, i sent via FTP the index_files folder and the index file to the root
directory on the host site. The images are directed to my C: drive on my home
computer.

I am not sure what the Master Page feature is, please give more info!

I looked at your site and all the graphics are loading just fine. I don't
see any that are pointing toward your C drive. They all point to the
index_files folder as they should:

Perhaps you are looking at the web preview when you see the C drive
reference?

You might want to proof read your text a bit better. From your home page:

I think he/she fixed the site as it was not working earlier and was pointing
to the C: drive. Some of the images load slow and an image compression
would probably help that help. I have seen the early versions of publisher
point to the local drive but not 2007.

Thank you so much for your response, I did get the site working last night at
3am with help from one of your answers in past questions in earlier memebers
problems, my problem was a master page issue.

I do have another question though. My contact us form does not work and I am
not sure how to get it working so that I can collect customer information. Do
you have any solution for form submission with a godaddy host account.

You have not selected the mailer on the godaddy server

Are you using the WINDOWS or LINUX server on Godaddy

He's on Apache without FPSE, so he'll have to use one of GoDaddy's scripts.

Also...if I were the OP I'd dump the splash page, as it's all graphics that
cannot be read by search engines...besides; what's the point?

Glad it worked out.

Let Spike help you with the forms. If you aren't using FPSE then he is
familiar with the other form handlers on GoDaddy and how to use them with
the Publisher forms.

Thanks. Sounds like it turned out to be the use of a Master Page.

Now you can help with the forms <g>.

Stumped in the UK

Hi, can you please share which post you referenced to fix your issue? I'm
having the same problem and have no idea how to use "master page" to fix it.

Thank you!

Open you publication in Publisher go to View > Master Page. If you have
anything on the Master Page then move everything to the main page. Don't use
the Master Page feature with a web publication.

There is a good chance that your problem has nothing to do with the Master
Page, so when or if you discover that then please repost in a new post,
provide a link to your website, tell us what version of Publisher you are
using, and give details of the problems you are having. Providing these
basics make helping people a whole lot easier...
