Graphics won't display in "Print Layout" mode.

Graphics will not display, or display very slowly, or partially display in
print layout mode. Printing is OK and so is Print Preview. Any ideas out
there?

Thanks, but unfortunately this doen't work. I have the picture placeholders
unchecked on the tools/options/view menu, and the drawings button checked.

Hi Brian,

In Tools|Options|View, uncheck 'picture placeholders'.

If Picture Placeholders isn't the problem the symptoms suggest some sort of
limitation to your system. RAM, processor type & graphics adapte can each
contribute to problems like the ones you describe in your original post.

You might try rt-clicking the Windows Desktop, select Properties & go to the
Settings page. Click the Advanced button & go to the Troubleshoot page. Back
the Hardware Accelleration slider down, Apply the change then take a look at
one of the problem docs in Word to see if that makes a difference - you may
have to try several changes to find the one that works best.

If this doesn't improve the situation, post back with more details about the
images (type & file size), Word & OS version, as well as system/video specs.

Thanks. This works when I move the accelerator slider to zero.

How come this has not been a problem with the same graphics in Excel and
PowerPoint?
