grayed out options

Hello,

I have a user that wants to get ride of the ruler at the top of his new
message but the option to remove is grayed out. He is running 0utlook 2002
with no policies running on the laptop. Its just a generic install. Anyone
have any ideas on whey it would be grayed out?

No it was not disabled in word, but I was able to look at it while he was at
lunch and was able to fix the problem by running detect & repair.
