Greyed out Header/Footer option?

Hello,

I have a document in which I am not able to access the
header/footers.

The option under the "view" menu is greyed out, and double
clicking on them does nothing either.

I really have no idea how this has happened or where to
look to "unlock" them.

Check the Tools menu. Is spellcheck also greyed out? Is there a command for
UnProtect Document? If so, use it, in a COPY of your document. When you are
finished editing the header/footer, you will want to reprotect the document
for forms. If a dialog comes up for a password, you won't be able to access
the headers/footers.
