Groove 2007 Chat bug

J

Jennico

We are using Groove 2007 German Version on XP and Vista.
On all operating systems the chat tool is not usable since it switches to
"Freehand
mode" when typing a "t". Writing all words without a "t" is nearly
impossible and once switching to freehand mode all text entered is deleted.

Sofar I have not found any comment for a solution.

You'd need to install the German version of Groove to see this problem,
which exists in the translation of the hotkeys for the chat window. Instead
of using Ctrl+T to switch to chat mode, someone forgot the 'Ctrl' bit.

This was reported shortly after Groove 2007 was released.

Just can confirm this, it is only in the German Version of Groove. Guess it
will not help ich you connect to the workspace with a Englich Version. PLease
let me know.

Hi everybody,
we reported this bug of the german version in March (several places
including the Partner-Community and in the Groove Developer Workspace).
maybe we get a solution now.
kind regards

Anything new re this bug?
It is quite annoying since we made a fair investment in $ and especially
time and one key cornerstone in a product final version is unusable - think
there should be at least a MSFT statement somewhere together with a
workaround (bug is now known for quite a while) otherwise we can consider
Groove as a End-Of-Life product and should reconsider our investments.

Seems that we got stuck here any body has any idea how to solve this problem?
Would be nice if the German Microsoft team could pick up this problem.

I have opened an official case with the professional suppot service of
Microsoft around 2-3 weeks ago. Despite following up and getting promises
that somebody will get back to me withing a business day, I have not even
gotten back a mail nor the promised call!

I think this great product Ray Ozzy once has brought into MSFT will
disappear otherwise MSFT would have fixed this issue long ago (it is only in
German Version - therefore it is not a architectural thing).
My conclusion is: great product but not worth investing in unless one want
to be in a dead-end road pretty soon, left alone with huge migration cost and
no real alternative.

I like to second this request. Not only this makes chat unusable but it also
makes an annoying bing sound any time a "t" is pressed in any text field
(where Ctrl-T is not available). Plz fix this accelerator table resource.
