Groove 2007 crashed at start with Office 2003

Hello, Groove 2007 crashes while showing the splash screen at startup,
every time. This happens on a Windows XP SP2 machine with Office 2003
(all apps but Info Path and Outlook) and Outlook 2007 and Groove 2007.

Before you doubt the Office 2003+2007 setup, all applications did work
at one point. But sometime after installing my other programs, it
stopped working. I will retrace my steps and post results.

Also, when I joined the machine to a Windows 2003 domain, the Windows
Firewall settings changed. Groove and Outlook were removed as
exceptions from the list (and Remote Assistance became allowed though
I had it denied). The domain is brand new and has no group policy to
influence Windows Firewall.

Does anyone have information on tracing these faults?

Having used Groove since 2.0 in 2002, I'm thrilled to see it included
with Office. Now to just make it work...

Solved my own problem. GrooveShellExtensions.dll must be registered.
Groove will not start, at least in my situation, if you ran:
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office
\Office12\GrooveShellExtensions.dll" /u

Running Groove after reregistering the dll added it back into Windows
Firewall. Still not sure why its entry (and Outlook's) was removed
when I joined the domain.

Now I have to remove all the Groove Explorer shell integration. I
love Groove and all, but they have no right to take the FIRST entry
under the File menu of every Explorer window. Is there any way to
remove that?
