Groove 2007 licensing

I am contemplating a purchase of Groove 2007. In reviewing the overview
page, the purchase is a $79 12 month subscription yet I also see pricing of
$145 give or take a few bucks. What should I expect for the purchase. Will
I have to always renew my subscription for the features of the software to
work, or will paying the higher rate exempt me from the subscription rate.
Could anyone please expand on the differences?
