Groove 2007 making Computers Run Slow

We have been using Groove 2007 for sometime now to synchronise our server and
laptops with work data. Ever since we installed the system we have noticed a
general slow down of all computers on the network roughly taking between 5-10
seconds to open/save excel/word file, browse in Windows Explorer etc. We are
sharing a lot of data 1.4 GB which comprises of 4121 files and 7351 folders
over 12 users of Groove 2007. The two questions I would like to ask are as
follows:

Is anyone else using Groove in this way and if so are they experiencing the
same speed problems?

If it is Groove causing the speed issue how do I resolve it?

You are approaching the limits of Groove in terms of data storage and
handling.

While the absolute ,imts are 2GB per workspace and 5000 file - this is not
optimal. Groove is designed to be optimal with 100's of files and 100's of
MBs of data.

If your file editing process is heavey - this may well be causing some of
your issues with slow running computers. Another area to look at is if
Workspace memebers are launching Groove at Startup and leaving it runnning.
If members log into Groove intermeittantly this could cause performance
issues. I would also assume that your PC's are up to the required spec.

Make sure that everyone is verified. If everyone has manager status, select
only one manager and have that manager verify everyone. Once everyone is
verified the problem should go away.
