Groove 2007 Manager Installation problems

I have been trying to install Groove Manager and when it comes to step 3 of
the installation I get the following error:

located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\GrooveMgr\GroovePSCDiagnostics_9_8_2008_10_5_11_51_1261466495.log,
fix the problem, and run the configuration wizard again.


I have confirmed that mixed mode authentication is selected on the SQL
Server and remote connections are allowed. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have the configuration of your server? i.e. x64/x86 and also the
SQL configuration? Local? Port 1433? 2005?
Standard/Enterprise/Workgroup?

Let me start, we are trying to set this up on VMware ESX 3.5 server. Now the
host (virtual server) for the Groove Manager Server is Windows 2003 R2 SP2
X64 (Enterprise) and the host (Virtual Server) for SQL is Windows 2003 R2
SP2 X86 (Enterprise) and the SQL server is SQL 2005 version 5.2.3790. As for
the ports we are not listening on 1433 or 2005. TCP Ports available are
2301, 2381, 1035, 1743

When prompted for the SQL Server name, give just the hostname, and when
prompted for the database name, give just the database name. Including a
backslash in either field (by specifying them together) will cause that
error.

You should also be aware that we do not recommend virtual servers for the
Groove servers, and VMWare is not an officially supported platform. For more
detailed information on issues to keep in mind, review the following article
on the Weekly Groove:

This solved my problem, was facing the same issue
