Groove 3 hangs

Hi Groove Experts,

I have a machine that’s running Groove 3.1.1.2384 and has almost 600 shared
spaces; it was working excellent until one day that did not work anymore...
When Groove.EXE opens and it is working on-line, it can be usable for about 2
o 3 minutes and after that it hangs without any error message. The Groove.EXE
process takes 50% of CPU usage and stay there forever…

During those minutes that Groove.EXE is alive and working on-line I can see
the shared spaces, I can uninvited or invite members and everything, but then
happens what I already described.

If Groove.EXE is working off-line, it doesn’t hang and works as should work
when it’s on-line too…

Do you have any experience about this error???

Is there any tool to check data consistency???

Any help will be appreciated!!

Thanks,

Pablo

Hi Pableo -

My guess would be that Groove has a big lump of data to process. You might
try shutting Groove down and running GrooveClean.exe in the folder where you
have Groove installed.

ALso, check you're not short of disk space, and defragment it too...

Dear Mark,

The data disk has a lot a free space... also I ran the GrooveClean.EXE but
the problem still appears... I can't undestand why off-line can work without
problems and on-line not... What I didn't try was with the defragmentation...
Then I tell you...

Thanks! Pablo

The online / offline thing suggests to me that someone has sent you a great
big indigestable lump of data, and Groove is merrily trying to process it.

Suggest you just leave your PC running for the weekend and pray that they
didn't accidentally drop the contents of their C: drive into Groove :-0

(sorry for mistyping your name earlier)
