Groove Account Server

Hi,

IMy groove account is setup for multiple computers. I tried to upload my
account online but it gave me the error:

"Groove could not successfully upload your account. Be sure that you are
working online and that your internet connection is working. Retry of press
Cacel to return to the previous screen."

I am definitely online and I have uploaded last month. Is there an issue
with the Groove accounts server?

I tried on another machine and I get the same error. I even tried to
retrieve my account but I get a similar error.

Any ETA on when the server will be back online?

Regards

Carlo

I would recommend saving your account to a file to removable storage device
(a flash drive, floppy drive, etc.) or to a network drive, and transfering it
that way.

The upload function was discontinued in Groove 2007, and I'm not sure what
the long-term plans are for migrated 3.1 services of this type. I don't see
any notice of a current problem, but I have no way to test the function at my
current location.

Services have been restored. I was able to upload my account today.

I use this in order to download the account to another computer. A user had
a corrupt hard disc yesterday and was unable to load windows. I was able to
access the hard disk and copy the Groove Data and User folders as well as
some files from C:\Documents and Settings\userprofile\Local
Settings\Application Data\Groove Networks\Groove\accounts (I could not copy
the files before this folder due to a corrupt sector).

I copied the folders to a similar location on another laptop, checked
registry settings and ran a Groove clean. I then restarted Groove and I was
able to load the account with all the workspaces. Some workspaces were
corrupted but retrievable from other sources. I saved the account to a file
so that it could be uploaded in the future.

Hope this is useful information to someone.
