Ninad

Hi,

I have these questions. Please help

1) Will Groove v3.1.2390 / v3.1.2396 /v3.1.2398 run on Vista?

2) Features comparison between Groove 3.1 and Groove 2007 ?

3) Are there any features/services that are provided in Groove v3.1 that are
not included in Groove 2007 ?

4) Can one inject third party applications in Groove 2007 ?

Hi Ninad -

1: Yes.

2: New in G2007: Localisation into lots of languages, a SharePoint files
tool. Forms is somewhat improved. There is integration into MSN messenger too.

3: The integrations with Word and Outlook are gone, as is the forms tool for
Sharepoint. Several of the less popular tools were also removed.

4: Third-party tools were locked out of the Groove UI.

Hi Mark,

Many thanks on answering the questions.

I have some more queries based on the last i.e.4th point?

a) What applications are considered as third party applications in Groove
2007 ?

b) If we create an application using Groove Toolkit for VS.net, is it still
considered a third party tool for installation in Groove ?

c) Will we be able to install such application(which has been developed
using Groove Toolkit) in Groove 2007 ?
for eg. We use a winforms application(.net framework 1.1) which has a
Project developed using Groove Toolkit, as well as regular VS projects. Will
we be able to install such application in Groove 2007 ?

Hi Ninad,

a) Third party applications are applications that run independantly of
Groove.
(Unfortunately) there's no mean anymore to inject applications into Groove
workspaces as new tools

b and c)
This API/toolkit is not supported anymore.
