Groove critical error, cannot start ..binary file store init...

Hi,

Groove 2007 was working fine for a month but now all of a sudden I get:

"Groove is unable to continue because an error occurred during binary file
store initialization."

Could be after a bluesceen driver crash.

Looks like data is in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\OFFICE\Groove
xxx.xss files

Tried Office repair just in case, no luck there.

Tried GrooveClean.exe with same error.

Tried grooveclean -all Grooveclean utility stopped working so I sent an
error report to MS.

Is there a tool to repair Groove database or how to wipe files if
GrooveClean does not work?

I have the same problem, nothing helps, the program is now useless on the
machine it is installed on. Curiously my Remote desktop also stopped working
on this machine for incoming connections. I can Remote desktop out but
incoming stopped working. GoToMyPC still works but windows remote desktop is
also a no go. ??? Of course there has been no help on either front, at this
point I probably would spend less time reinstalling everything from the
ground up with a fresh OS than continuously trying to debunk the OS.

This Worked for Me

Rename the C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\Groove\System\Groovebinaryfilestore.xss file to .old and start Groove.
