Groove Entreprise Services - Importing already created users

C

Caius

My organization started using Microsoft Office Groove 2007 with 6 users and
now we have subscribed Groove Enterprise Services (6 licences).

We want to import to Groove Enterprise Services the already created users
and workspaces.

We looked at the help file, but haven't figured how to do that.

It seems that we only can create new users. This is not an option because it
will implicate a lot of work recreating the users and workspaces.

Help is appreciated.

Where were the accounts before? Were you using the trial version? Just
create the accounts and send the users the Activation key. Their accounts
will be upgraded, and they won't lose data. Try this on one user and see.

Note that the users can Archive all their spaces, then Activate. If any data
ends up missing, they can create a new space from Archive, reinvite the
members and pick up right where they left off. So you have
belt-and-suspenders ;-)

If you are talking about a domain migration, and you have access to the
Management Server where the existing accounts reside, you can export them to
a .csv file and import them into the new domain.

The process is described in the Domain Admin guide, linked here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/grooveserver/default.aspx

It starts on page 23 (in the pdf)

If you don't need to migrate the domain, i.e. your management server is not
moving to a new URL, and you're running Groove 2007 clients, you shouldn't
need to do anything - G2007 doesn't need licenses residing on the Management
server.
