Migration Questions from Groove 3.1 to Groove 2007

Hi Folks,
unfortuneately I could not find all of the answers when migrating from
Groove 3.1 to Groove 2007. Here a list of questions, which are mandatory for
Workgroup Administrators who need to prepare for a change to Groove 2007.
Any help and aswers are very much apreciated and probably helpfull for many
others out in the word, who are using Groove in a community of 30-100 members.

1. When Groove 3.1 workspaces will stop synchronising or, when the relay
servers are going to shut down? (we relie on the relay servers, for proper
synchronisation. If they are off, Groove 3.1 is DEAD)
2. Groove 3.1 is not sold anymore. While Groove 2007 is Beta. We cannot
accept Beta. So, how can new users get a licence/key for Groove 3.1 standard
and Professional edition?
3. When Groove 2007 will be released?
4. Can I run Groove 3.1 and Groove 2007 simultaneously?
5. I read in the forum, that Groove 2007 will require much more
administration time than Groove 3.1. Considering having a Workspace for
filesharing only and a form tool running, is the admin time comparable?
6. Forms database: Will the data in the database be possible to port over to
Groove 2007?
7. Will scripts in forms tool be re-usable without modification in Groove
2007?
8. If sripts (Java) will be not re-usable, what support will be available
for porting?
9. Does a document exist for Workspace Admins of Groove Professional 3.1,
which gives clear and functioning guidelines how to transition over to Groove
2007 with lowest possible risk of computer crash or data loss?

THANKS !

I am also interested in the answers to questions 1-4 and it would be very
helpful if they were posted to a visible place on the groove.net site as FAQ
so that everyone could find out what to do.

Also is Office Groove available as a standalone product or is it bundled
with Office?

Groove is still sold. They have removed the chance to purchase Groove via
the website. You can still purchase it through the resllers such as ourselves
and will be able to do so until year end.

Do you know of any US resellers? Likewise - we are partnering with another
business and were counting on them coming on board with 3.1. I am very wary
of them having to get the 2007 beta and be stranded at the end of February.
Q5
File sharing is not supported under 2007

This is even more ominous sounding than the review I read where a laundry
list of non-supported files was presented (including .mdb and .mde...alas).
But you're saying file-sharing has been dropped altogether? This was one of
the strengths and main focuses of Groove - collaboration. I really don't
follow this decision at all.

I was hoping that Office 2007 including Groove would be the ultimate
collaborative tool - but I am becoming more leary of it the more I read.

File-sharing workspaces are still supported in Groove2007.

There is no longer a separate "file sharing edition" of the product, though.

Yes - I went ahead and installed 2007 beta on a PC here that did not have
Groove and saw how similar things looked. I then realized that it DOES allow
file sharing, but with the default of disallowing that list of file types.
You can unceck the box in Preferences that prevents those file types and you
are apparently back to 3.1 file-sharing capability.
