Using Groove 3.1? Read this!

With the release of SharePoint Workspace (ie Groove 2010), Microsoft will be
officially ending its support for Groove 3.1. You can read more here:

If you need help with securing the information you have in Groove 3.1 or are
looking for help migrating your data out of Groove into some other platform
such as SharePoint, SharePoint Workspace, SQL Server or wherever, please get

Do you know how we will be able to manage users previously purchased Groove
3.1 licenses once Microsoft remove the My Groove Account pages?

Hi Mark,

With the upcoming release of Groove 2010, am I correct in saying that
Microsoft will no longer be providing Hosted Management Services? So, in
order to use Groove 2010, I will need to have three, separately installed
server applications - Groove Manager, Groove Relay, and Groove Data Bridge?

And, can you tell me what Microsoft Office Groove Enterprise Services is?

Hi,

While you will not be able to revoke licenses from users, you will still be
able to provide users with the activation code you have been using all along
for 3.1 activations and they should still activate.

Hi Shawn,

Hosted Management Services will still be available, just not supported. You
do NOT need any server products to use SharePoint Workspace 2010. However if
you want to use a Managed Environment, you can use the Groove Management and
Groove Relay Servers 2010. Groove Data Bride has been discontinued for 2010
although GDB 2007 will still be supported.
