Groove Files Tool, shared files not visible

Hi all, I'm rather new to groove. My office uses it mostly to share files.
I installed my new, licensed copy and responded to the invitation to join our
shared workspace. Unfortunately, while the discussion, issue tracking and
messaging type features seem to work, I don't have the Files tool/tab I'm
supposed to. When I added the files tab myself, I see no shared files. How
can I get the proper access to the shared files of my workspace/office group
and why doesn't this work properly via my validated inviation to join the
workspace?

Thx,

Jean

Hi there,

If you add a new Files tool, this will not expose the pre-existing tool.
Can you ask another space member who has the files tool how large the space
is? If it is 2 GB or approaching 2 GB, then you might want to break the
space down to smaller spaces. If that does not work, have someone who has
the files tool make a copy of the space. Select the space in the Laurnchbar,
right click the space, and select Duplicate. Have that member invite you to
the space – do you receive the Files tool?

Hi Gregg, the workspace manager responded with the following:

"no dice. the duplicate doesn't include the "Files" tab. I'm assuming it's
because the file size is too big. When the guy says to "break the space down
to smaller spaces" does he mean create multiple workspaces or multiple
"Files" tab? Multiple workspaces might not be practical because all of the
spaces would need to be open in order to have "real time" updates. Having
multiple "Files" tabs sounds doable but that does nothing to reduce the size
of the workspace."

Thx for any additional input...Jean
