Groove Networks Folder

Mr. Bigman

Hi all,

I have a little question, my local C drive is almost full.
I had a look which files/folders are consuming lots of Gb's
Found out that the c:\documents and settings\all users\Application
Data\Groove Networks is more than 18Gb!!
Especially the groovebinaryfilestore.xss_ folder within the folder Permanent.

Does it cause any problems when I delete these files?

FYI I have got only 2 workspaces in Groove available

Thanks for the reply!

This is your Groove data directory if you delete this you will loose all of
your Groove data - this is NOT recommended. Perhaps you should see if there
are any only workspaces that you could delete using the Groove launchbar.

I too have this issue. I have been using Groove for 4+ years and i
manage 200+ users

do you know who we can talk too about an issue we have with HUGE groove
files? my laptop drive is very full the major storage user is now Groove

I have screen shots from my Groove v3.1a machine.

I did a lot of massive cleanup recently - fragged a ton of spaces.

no luck with google, Groove FAQ or the MS KB

the Groove binary file store has > 18,000 files adding up over 40 GB
of space

I can't find any means to trim this down or reduce the number or size of
files.

Why is the binary data store so big?

i run grooveclean everyone two weeks as a minimum, some times a few
times per week. I also instruct others to do the same four step process

1. shut Groove down
2. run grooveclean.exe
3. start groove
4. click work online

This machine was new in Oct 2006,
The history on this machine only goes back 8 months

i have posted this issue here

http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...D1E-56F4-C0D4-D4DB-2249A9A182A6&lang=en&cr=US

it was hard to find. no way to add attcahments even USENET allows
attcahments (;

i checked the sizes of each of the 20 w/s I have.
none is > 300 mb, most are < 100 mb

in total they may be ~ 3gb but not 40GB

any way to contact ms for support ?

please let me know what your machine shows in the same directory.

aslo

can the groove 2007/office 12 ERS work with 3.1 client

we can't order the groove 3.1 ERS anymore and MS says me can only order
the latest and greatest from MS/softchoice

i'm worrying about loss of functionality and incompatiblity with
current 3.1 users

pls let me know
