Groove options for Office 2003

E

Eric Moody

My company uses Office 2003. I want my team to use Groove, but Groove 2007
requires Office 2007. I cannot find any information Groove Virtual Office 3.1
to determine if it would work or is even available, except in trial version.

Help!

Does Groove 2007 require Office 2007 for all functionalities (aside from the
InfoPath add-ins?) That's what I want to know. I've seen yeses and noes on
this issue. I have a colleague using Office 2003 who says he cannot access
chat, but I am not sure if that's a configuration issue or a real limitation.

I'm in a similar situation as you-- Office 2003, but want colleagues to get
into Groove workspaces!

Hi Eric and CM,

Groove Virtual Office is no longer available, so that would not be an option
for you. However, you can buy stand alone versions of Office Groove 2007
that does not require Office 2007. It runs quite well with Office 2003. You
can purchase the stand alone Groove at any software retailer that sells
Microsoft software.

Not being able to access chat is probably because your colleague is in a
managed environment and the Groove administrators have disallowed chat in
their policies.
