Groove Questions

I'm a consultant who uses Groove to manage projects. A project that is
coming up is going to install 2007 and I need to know whether I have to
upgrade 2007 to manage the workspace.

1. Can 3.1 AND 2007 be installed at the same time? If so, can they run
simultaneously or can one be shut down so the other can launch?
2. If 3.1 and 2007 can not be installed on the same computer at the same
time, can 3.1 connect/manage to a 2007 workspace? If so, when connecting to
2007 workspaces are all 3.1 capabilities still available?
3. If my organization migrates to Groove 2007, do we have to upgrade to
Office 2007? If not, how is Groove 2007 limited?
4. Regarding Office Live, is it server based, peer-to-peer, and can the data
be stored on a server?

Thanks,
Rick P.

Saddly rick groove 2007 does not have any project managment tool nor does it
have the ability to inject a custom tool for project managment. Futher 3.1
users in a 2007 workspace will also not have any of the tools from the 3.1
workspace.
Basically - its now useless for project managment. I believe they are trying
to get you to buy MS project and some how coordinate MS project installation
on all your companies & clients computers. take a look at collaber.com . It
looks like an open source version of groove 3.1 - project manegment tools
included.

good luck

Thank you for the information.

If I'm reading this right, it would be useless to stay with 3.1 if my client
is using 2007. Is this a correct statement? If I upgrade to 2007, I can
still connect to clients still using 3.1 correct but they would be in the
same position we would be in with this paticular client, having to upgrade to
2007 to use 3.1 tools. Correct?

I'll check out collaber.com but doubt this will be an option since many of
our clients are already using Groove 3.1 but thanks for the information
anyway.

Thanks,
Rick
