Groove support rant

1. I realize that the people who answer questions in here are for the most
part fellow users. Most of the questions that are answered are answered by
Groove Partners like Mark Smith of Infopatterns (thanks Mark!). It would be
nice if some of the people who actually created Groove, or their customer
service reps, were to pop in every once in a while and try to answer some of
the questions posted here (if they are, I haven't seen it yet). The docs on
groove.net just don't cover everything.....

2. Search option for this forum...is anyone going to fix it? It's a major
hassle to read through each post looking for information you need.

Hi Kevin

We do see Hugh Pyle (Groove Program Manager) posting here along with
official tech support people - Mason, Emily, Sara Xue being people who
have posted in the last week or so. We even saw one of Groove's top
sales dudes posting a couple of week ago. Hi Rob :)

It would be great to see some of the Groove Forms development team in
here. With Forms taking a more central role in Groove, some feeling that
they are at least keeping abreast of the questions people have would be
reassuring. This would not be unprecedented - we often see postings by
Microsoft product developers in the other forums on microsoft.public...

Personally, I'd like to see some of the rest of the Groove Partner
community in here. Evan Venn @ D2i (???) and Francois-Xavier Joos at
hommesetprocess being notable exceptions.

Search on this forum? I' vote for it to be fixed, too. Same with the
subgroups not showing up properly.

the best way to manage and search is to use Outlook Express' Newsreader. You
then control the delivery and can set it to show only unread messages and
you are able to search very well. the address to add to your reader is
msnews.microsoft.com and then selelct the groove discussion thread
microsoft.public.groove

This is great if you are on a laptop and not connected to the web you can at
lease search through the old news to find out pearls of information. I do it
all the time.

I must mention that the source of Groove support is all over the place -
newgroups, prior forums (@ groove.net) and Groove spaces.
Recently, I encountered an issue (posted in this newsgroups) regarding
annoying Relay Serve messages. This was finally resolved by Hugh's
assistance in a Groove space.

I use to be very active in the Groove support forums (when it was under
Groove.net) but since then, I consider this newsgroup as a source of
getting and imparting support & advice. I would recommend to Groove users to
get involved in more public Groove spaces. Start here -

Hi KVSmith59

I am a user and have been doing most of my learning by firing questions into
this forum. In respect to other users I think you will find many are not
aware of this service. I have been working with computers for many years and
always go lookinig for newsgroups and found them to be the best place to get
help and answers.
