Groove Will Not Open Word Docs

I

I am running Groove 2007 on Vista Ultimate.

When I attempt to open a Word Doc from a workspace I receive this error and
am unable to open the document:

"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this
action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel."

Other documents such as Exel and Project open up fine within the workspace.
Word docs outside the workspace also open.

I had the same, but with Excel. I fixed it by going to Excel Options - and
then running the diagnostics there. Some days later it came back - I did the
same thing again - and then I have not seen it anymore.

Where do you run diagnostics in excel options?

click the round office button on top left. For some reason the option button
is then on the right bottom of the new window - and there is diagnostics :)

I was having this same problem. The file extension .docx was already
associated with Microsoft Word and it still wasn't opening the file. I
associated the file ext. with the Microsoft Word document viewer, opened the
file through Groove, then re-associated it with Microsoft Word. That seemed
to fix the problem for me, I hope that helps.
