Groove with EndNote

Does anyone know how well or badly Groove would work with EndNote? The idea
would be to keep my reference library (quite large--24,000 references) in a
groove worlspace synchronized among three computers, so I could use the same
library on those three computers without physically transporting it.

Thanks for any help.

I use Groove 2007 with Endnote X.0.2 (build 2283) to sync my laptop with my
office PC. I have 773 records as of now and have been using it for several
months now with no problems.

I've found Groove folder synchronization feature to be its most useful
feature.

Thanks for the reply. I also had contacted EndNote tech support with my
question. They said they hadn't tried EN with Groove, but that they thought
one would ned to always move the library out of Groove to do any changes to
it, and then move the chnaged library back into Groove to make it available
to other computers. When I tried to save refrences to the library while it
was in Groove, I got an error message that the changes had not been saved
because the file was locked. Have you tried this and had a different
experience?

I do not use EndNote from within a Grove workspace. Instead, I have my
EndNote folder configured as a "File Sharing Workspace." This allows me to
access the folder normally while on the PC and Groove keeps it synchronized
with my laptop.

That's very interesting. I did not know there was any real difference between
a groove workspace and a file sharing workspace. Have you actually checked to
see if changes you make to the library show up on your other computers?

BTW, I agree that the synchroniztion for a single user on multiple computers
is the best thing about Groove. It now seems to to me to be a necessary
application for me. It also protects me against losing manuscripts or other
documents since they now exist on multiple computers (though if I
accidentally deleted on one computer, the deleted document would disappear
from all)

hm... on an off topic - i've been searching for a while for a backu
program which is more helpful than the native M$ version in vista hom
edition. your post makes me think that Groove could fill the void as
backup if i sync my laptop with an external hard drive - can it be done
