Group history missing from Google?

I'm not able to get any messages from this group prior to March 2000. Has
Google dropped usenet history?

I've certainly found that it's gotten VERY unreliable and spotty. It seems to
come and go but lots of the archives are indeed missing.

I hope that Google, or somebody, has the Google Groups data inclucing the old
DejaNews archives stored safely... somewhere! But I'm not too hopeful.

It more seems like the indexing can't find the articles although as
you say random ones are available.

AFAIK Google bought Dejanews. Also some researcher/prof somewhere
had the Usenet postings available from all the way before 1995 when
the Internet started being used by the public.

P.S. Try to find a Google email address to complain to. Good luck!

I've noticed that indexing has been (and is) flaky, but right now
it looks more like most of it is just missing.
