Group on a View without the column on the view

I want to adjust a Porject / Summary view to include a grouping field of say
'Actual Cost', but I do not want 'Actual Cost' on my report view. I tried a
few different ways but no luck.

Am I missing something, or is just not possible

Never mind. I set the field length to 1 pixel and that virtually eliminates
the column.
