group tasks for reporting purposes

I need to group tasks into service blocks for reporting purposes. My customer
is looking to see percentage done against the service block. I have the plan
broken down into a contract description which in some case crosses several
service blocks. I would love to speak with someone on this issue. I aam
fairly certain it can be done I just don't know how. I am using MPP 2003.

I guess the first question is, how are the service blocks identified?
They apparently don't follow the contract WBS (I assume that's what you
mean by "contract description"). If there is a spare field that is used
to identify service blocks, you may be able to get what you need by
using the grouping function found under the Project menu (Project/Group
By/Customize Group By).

If the grouping function doesn't quite get you there, a little more
explanation about the relationship between service blocks and your
contract descriptions, will help us help you. Also, what exactly does
the customer mean by "percentage done"?
