Grouping and Selecting

I am trying to group specific sections of an oval shape rather like a pye
chart, but I need to write in it for presentation purposes, I want colour and
animate each individual section but cannot seem to do this.
If there is a fairly easy way to do this I would appreciate if someone could
let me know

What exactly are you having trouble doing?

To group items, select them (hold down your Shift button and click the
various items you want to group) and then go to Draw/Group on the drawing
toolbar.
