grouping dates in a pivot table

Hi I have a pivot table that has transactions by date. I want to group
by month and year. How do i do that in the pivot table? Thanks

EXCEL 2007



Click on one of the dates in the Pivot Table.

PivotTable Tools.
Options contextual tab.
Group group.
Click on:-
Group Selection

The Grouping window should now open.

In the Grouping window click on Months and Years so that they are both
highlighted in blue.
Click:-
OK

You should now have what you want.
