Grouping Objects

I have not been able to group objects in Frontpage 2003 at all. I know how
to do it as I have been doing it for years using Publisher. Is it my
software or am I missing something?

What type of objects are you trying to group? The group function only works
with objects that you create from the drawing toolbar.

I know what you are trying to do I use the grouping feature in Publisher as
well, bad news is Frontpage will not do this.

Publisher is a desktop publishing program, not a web creation program.

Huh - I wonder why they would even put it on the toolbar as an option then??
Thanks though, its good to know I'm not crazy:).

Ahhh - that helps immensely! Thank you for the tip. I was trying to group a
graphic from the clip art gallery with a text box. Come to think of it they
are both icons on the drawing toolbar though...?

Thanks Tom:)... Still wonder what that option could be useful for then and
why they would include it on the drawing toolbar??

It's there so that you can create complex drawings with the tools in the
drawing toolbar, group the components and treat them as a single entity.

IMO the drawing toolbar should never be used - it produces VML, absolutely
positioned graphics that can only be seen in IE5.5 and later running on
Windows. And over 20% (and rising) of browsers in use are *not* IE.

It's a shame that drawing objects don't work in other browsers. I was hoping
to use them as absolutely-positioned numbers for annotating HTML wireframes.
Any suggestions on how FrontPage can facilitate annotation?

Create the items, group them, then view in IE and make a screen capture.
