The help reads
"<b>In print preview, you can arrange the content in your handout</b> ..",
however I could not find any options where I could paste a visio diagram to
be printed within the handout, but not within the slide itself.

How do I edit handout content?

That means you can change the printing layout options, such as # slides per
page, scale to fit paper, etc.

To edit handouts, you'll need to Send to Word and edit the Word doc, or use
an add-in:
