Handwriting and ink

In a closed discussion the topic of handwriting in word seemed to end with the comment that Microsoft didn't need to provide ink functionality because the mac did.... While accurate in part it missed a critical option of ink in most tablet application. That is leaving the handwriting as ink and not converting to recognized text. This is a key part of office on a tablet pc.... however not on a mac. one can use inkBook and cut & paste...but..... any thoughts?

My thought would be that you are correct: Microsoft Office does not provide
handwriting support.

On the PC, handwriting support comes from Windows, on the Mac, from Mac OS.

Unless you can show Microsoft how it could make money out of doing something
that the operating system already does (albeit not perfectly...) there is no
business case for spending the money.

InkBook sounds like a great solution :)

Cheers
