I have tried adding the feature of handwriting recognition in my version of
Office 2003 Pro but it is not available or not listed in the language
section. I have followed the install directions but don't have the feature
available.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi A.,

In Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel from the Microsoft Office 2003 choice have you installed the Alternative Input
shared features?

If you use Tools=>Speech in Word and set the options for that toolbar are you able to add/enable handwriting recognition?

What version of MS Windows are you using? What is the language/locale you have set in the Control panel

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your help. I have installed all of the features with ms office
pro 2003 including the alternative input shared features. I am using a
tablet pc running windows XP tablet edition with english as the language
setting. I have installed the speech recognition but the handwriting option
is not offered or visible anywhere. I've tried using the tools in word to
set the handwriting toolbar but it is not visible or available/offered. I
know that I can use handwriting with a defult writing box that came with the
xp tablet but I would like the option of write anywhere that office offers.

Thanks again for your help

I am having the exact same problem. Everyone keeps saying to Install it from
the disk, but it simply does not have the "handwriting" option available
under alternative user inputs; almost like my version just doesn't have it.
It has the speech option and that is it. I've tried everything, re-install,
messing around with language options.......nothing is helping it appear.
