Hard Space

I've found a hard space code in a document I'm working on,
and I don't know how it got there. It's like a
superscript little circle or square. Does anyone know the
keystrokes or command to create a hard space? (That's a
space the doesn't expand when the section is full
justified.)

Jim,

A non-breaking space is CTRL+SHIFT+spacebar. Also handy for keeping serial
numbers numbers, etc. from breaking a lines. There is a non-breaking hypen
as well CTRL+SHIFT+keyboard hyphen.

was impossible to get from Microsoft. I LOVE boards.
