Has my task pad been corrupted somehow?

My task pad (in calendar view) has been acting up.

1) When there is a check box to mark an item "complete", it does not respond
to my attempts to check the box when I am in the task pad.

This problem does NOT persist in either the "Outlook Today" views or any of
the actual task folder views. Just in the Calendar Task Pad.

2) The grid views do not always correspond with what I have requested when
setting up the task pad.

3) Regardless of whether my Task Pad custom view includes or does not
include the task icon as one of the columns, the icons always show.

Is there a quick repair for this? Can I somehow purge the task pad and then
call it back fresh? I tried an Outlook Repair a while back, without any
noticeable luck.

Regarding the icons showing whether or not they are selected as part of the
customized taskpad view, and the other display inconsistencies in item 2):

This only happens when the taskpad is set at certain dimensions on the
screen. If I make the calendar very skinny and the taskpad very wide, the
display inconsistencies go away.

I accidentally stumbled on a setting for the task pad that says, "Allow
in-cell editing". It was unchecked. When I checked it all my problems with
the taskpad enumerated above went away.
