Having major problems switching to entourage 2008 from 2004

The first time I ran Entourage after I installed Office 2008 it asked
if I wanted to import an identity I chose yes 2004 version but it
refuses to recognize my Entourage 2004 identity. I have a lot of data
and contacts in Entourage 2004. Can't live without it. How do I import
it to Entourage 2008? Currently I have switched to Office 2008 but
continue to use Entourage 2004.

Does it see the Identity in 2004? Is it grayed out? Is it on the same drive?

To manually move over your data see this page.

Was your old Entourage 2004 installation of the same language than
your new Entourage 2008 installation?

I had the same problem with my old Spanish Entourage 2004 Installation
and my new English Entourage 2008 Installation. The names of the files
and folders related to my identity in Entourage 2004 were in Spanish,
so my English Entourage 2008 couldn't find them. I needed to manually
find and to rename all the data files and folders of my old Spanish
Entourage 2004 installation to their corresponding names in English in
order to be able to be detected from the new English Entourage 2008
installation.

It is incredible that a Company like Microsoft, which it is supposed
to be a "Global Company" can make so absurd mistakes and deliver their
products to the globalized world with these kind of bugs.
