Header and footer

Alan North

I have created a user manual with various page numbers in
the footer 1.e 2.0 2.01 2.02 3.0. Sometimes 2.0 is more
than 1 page long. When I edit the footer it defaults all
pages to 2.0 I cannot individually alter each one.

Help!!!

By definition, footers (as well as headers) are designed to repeat
data on multiple pages. What you want requires that you divide your
document into multiple sections, as far as I can tell. In order to
insert a section break, choose Insert>Break, click "Next page", and
click OK. However, note that you can have up to three different
footers (and headers) if you select the options for "Different first
page" and "Different odd and even" on the Layout tab of the Page Setup
dialog box (access this dialog by clicking Page Setup on the File
menu).
