Header and the "&" character

I need to tilte the header of a page using the "&" character but it will not
show up. For Example; Cat & Dog would show as Cat Dog, no "&". It I do
Cat&Dog I get Cat{date}og.

You have to use two &s to get one!! Try Cat && Dog.
