Header arbitrarily positioned on page?

Ted Swinyar

Hello,

I am interested in having a small block of text positioned
about halfway down the right side of every page (our
address). It was suggested that this could be done with
Headers and I thought I had figured this out, but I can't
seem to resize the header.

I would like it to be just a small block on the right side
of the page instead of filling the width of the page.

We are using Microsoft Office XP (SP2). Thanks for any and
all help!

Hi, Ted,

While the cursor is in the header area, use Insert | Text Box. You can draw
your text box anywhere on the page, not just inside the dashed header box.
Because the text box is "anchored" in the header, it will repeat on every
page.

Hello Jay,

Thanks for your response. I tried this and it does work as
we need it to, except that when we print the text does not
print. Is there a setting or trick we need to do to make it
print?

Thanks for any and all help!

Hi, Ted,

In Tools | Options | Print, make sure the box for Drawing Objects is
checked. (Text boxes are considered drawing objects, like pictures and
shapes.)

I've done additional testing and it appears that for some
reason our installation of Office XP Professional will not
print the header text box, but our installation of Office
XP Small Business Edition will. I tried updating all the
way up to the latest Service Pack 2, but nothing seems to
make a difference. I take the file from Professional to
Small Business and it prints just fine.

Anyone else ran into this problem?

Thanks for any and all help!

Hi, Ted,

Did you miss my reply of yesterday? I said,

"In Tools | Options | Print, make sure the box for Drawing Objects is
checked. (Text boxes are considered drawing objects, like pictures and
