Header/footer/drawings view change

I have Word 2002. A friend sent me a Word document
containing pictures. When I opened it the screen showed
each page side-by-side in miniature with a gold background.
Now when I use headers and footers and drawing tools, my
document reverts to the same small size and gold background
and I can't see what I'm typing. I click on View and Normal
and see the standard format again but can't add header or
footers that way. I would like to have the program back to
the orginal settings. Any ideas?

You might try View/Zoom and turning off "Multiple pages".
