HEADER / FOOTER PAGE X OF Y ERROR

When I use a clients Office Word system and add via header / footer a page x
of y when document is printed it shows as page 1 of 1, page 2 of 2, page 3 of
3 etc. When I view document in print preview is shows it as correct i.e. page
1 of 3, page 2 of 3, page 3 of 3.
I have had same problem some time ago (Office 2000?) but cannot remember the
bug fix.
