is it possible to display the ONLY the year in the Header/footer? if any body
knows that would be great

You could type it in.

Or you could use a macro...

Why not just type 2010 in a custom footer?

You cannot format &Date without using VBA

Sub YearInFooter()
With ActiveSheet
.PageSetup.CenterFooter = Format(Date, "yyyy")
End With
End Sub
