Header not printing

New to Mac's. Have MS Office, and can add header, but can't make it print.
Followed "Help" directions, which mainly deal with how to add headers, page
numbers. Running latest OS X on iMac. Any advice? Thanks

Which application (e.g., Word, Excel)?

Sorry about the delay in responding. I'm referring to MS Word. I have the
MS Office edition for Students and Teachers, bought about Feb of '04.
Thanks for any help.
