Header "reverting" to old header when adding new pages.....?

I have a document that a co-worker gave me to use as a template. It appears
to have our logo and information as it should in the header. However,
whenever I add a new page a different logo / header information appears in
the header on the new page leaving our header information intact on the prior
pages.

In Power Point you can set up a master slide to apply the settings to any
slides created. Is this something similar in Word? How can I find the source
of where this information is being pulled and eliminate it?

Thank you for any help. :)

Your document template has been set up with "Different first page" enabled.
When you do this, you get a separate First Page Header and primary Header,
which appears on the second and subsequent pages. This latter obviously
doesn't appear until you get to the second page, and if the template has
only one page, you may be unaware that the Header has incorrect information.
In the template, insert a temporary page break (Ctrl+Enter), View | Header
and Footer, and edit the Header as desired. Close the header pane and remove
the page break. Now when you use the template, you'll have the correct
Header, which Word will remember even though you can't see it.

Thank you for your response Suzanne. :)

I checked the page setup before posting my original post and saw that the
"Different first page" was not checked. It has not been changed by me either
and speaking with the worker (she, too, has not changed it), she received her
copy from the original author. Does this mean, then, that the original author
set it up with "Different first page" and then unchecked it before
distributing to us?

Just trying to understand what is going on. :)

I will try your suggestion. Thanks again.

I'm not sure I understand it, either. Does the template/document contain any
section breaks?
