headers and footers across sheets

Hi.

A user here wants to be able to enter a header and/or
footer on the first sheet, and then have that custom
header apply to all sheets, without having to go through
page setup to apply it to each sheet, individually.

I can program it to do that, but she seemed to think that
there ought to be some automatic setting in Excel that
could be checked in order to do that.

Is there? I'm not aware of it, if there is.

There's no setting, but if she groups the sheets first (e.g., select the
left-most sheet's tab, then shift-click on the right-most sheet's tab),
all the changes will take place in all the sheets.

Be sure to have her ungroup the sheets after the desired changes
(right-click on a selected sheet's tab and choose "Ungroup"), or
subsequent changes will also be reflected in all the sheets.
