headers and footers in landscape view

I am writing a text where some of the pages are laid out in landscape view.
the document has a header and footer on every page. On those pages which are
set to landscape view, I would like the header and footer to appear on the
right and left side of the page, rather than the top or the bottom.

If anyone can advise how to do this I would be very grateful as I have spent
three years on and off trying to find the solution on MS online.
