Hebrew characters

Hi. I have a iBook G4 with OS X. Please tell me how to insert Hebrew
characters into a Word document. (With Word on a PC, you just go to
"insert symbol" but there are no Hebrew symbols in the Mac version).

You can't right now. You'll have to wait for Office 2004 (which won't
support right to left input :-\).
In the meanwhile, you can use apps like Mellel,
