Hello, How do I create a Template in Word 97

Hello,

I think this is Word 97 because the Help on the Toolbar doesn't have an
About in the pull down Menu.
But that Paper Clip Assistant listed Word 97, 95 and 6.0 so it must be 97.

What do I need to Create a Template ?
Not sure but I remember reading somewhere Word 2002 and above has that
feature but may not be in earlier versions of Word.

I'm more into the OS and Hardware where I don't use the Office Programs.
(I use Note Pad more but for what I do I don't need fancy)

However this is someone else's Computer and wanted to show them how they can
find their answers here in the Newsgroups.
I had them read through the Posts first to see if there was something
already on their question before Posting and hope they get in here more.

Thank you for your help.

AFAIR, all versions of Word have and 'About' under the Help menu. I guess
that you have a later version of Word with Adaptive menus (IMHO the work of
the devil himself). Right-click on any Toolbar and select Customise. Under
the Options Tab, check the Always Show Full Menu option.

Then see the Tutorials on Creating Templates - The Basics:

Hello All,

I thank you for all the great info on Templates.
However, from what I've read I believe I am confusing Template for
something else, although I see I needed that info too for what she wants
to do.

She needs to make a Form that has Boxes for "Name, Address, City, ect"
with Lables for the Boxes like Name, Signature, ect that can be filled
out by hand as a type of Contract.

I can see how to make the Border but not the Boxes and I thought that
was a Template.

Sorry it too so long to reply but she has AOL where they don't support
Newsgroups anymore and OE can be tempermental where it wouldn't let me
reply the next day.
LOL !

Got Netscape for her now and this is much better more like Thunderbird
on my Computer that is less confusing for account setup.

Yes the Word 97 is Registered and used it years ago for access to MSDN.
Strange they don't have the "About Word" off the help but that damn
paperclip assistant may be behind that.

Thanks again for your help

Kevin
